Led by principal attorney Trent A. McCain, McCain Law Offices, P.C. focuses on legal resolution for cases involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and civil rights. A former associate of the late, famed attorney Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr., McCain has built his career on achieving precedent-setting results for his clients.
A native of Gary, Indiana, McCain earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry in 1995. He started law school in 1999 and earned his J.D. from the Valparaiso (Indiana) University School of Law in 2002.
After graduation, McCain associated with the Chicago office of The Cochran Firm with managing partner James D. Montgomery, Sr. In 2005, he founded McCain Law Offices, P.C.
McCain is admitted to practice in Illinois, Indiana, various federal district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
He is a member of the National Bar Association, the Chicago Inn of Court, the Indiana and Illinois Trial Lawyers Associations, and the Indiana State Bar Association. McCain currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Lake County (Indiana) Bar Association and is a past president of the James C. Kimbrough Bar Association. In May 2015, McCain was one of only 25 attorney graduates of the Indiana State Bar’s Leadership Development Academy, Class IV.
In 2011, the Indiana Supreme Court appointed McCain as one of only seven lawyers statewide to serve on the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, which is responsible for investigating and prosecuting claims of misconduct against lawyers licensed to practice law in Indiana. His commission term is five years.
